please update this band

Cincinnati heavy metal band Thruster formed in 2020 with a straightforward commitment to the classic genre fundamentals — crunching riffs, driving rhythms, and the no-frills conviction that made heavy metal a Midwest staple.

Cleveland's Tilt have been playing heavy metal since 2009, carrying the industrial city's working-class rock and roll tradition into traditional metal territory — direct, riff-led, and hard-nosed. They're a reliable fixture of the Ohio underground that values substance over trend.

Formed in 2022 out of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Trenchgoat bring a hard rock backbone to their blend of heavy and thrash metal, landing somewhere between throwback aggression and arena-adjacent hooks. They're a young band with a sound that leans on the visceral pleasure of the riff.

Tündra is a Cleveland, Ohio heavy/power metal band formed in 2011, forging melodic and powerful metal in a city with a deep roots in hard rock and metal history.

Cleveland's UvU are a genuinely strange proposition: an avant-garde, post-metal act that refuses to play by genre rules since their 2018 formation, blending heavy metal weight with art-damaged experimentation in ways that mark them as one of the more intellectually curious bands in the Ohio metal underground. The playful name belies the music's considerable ambition.

Cleveland's Vanik play speed and heavy metal with the gonzo energy of someone who discovered Motörhead and never recovered. Since 2016, they've been delivering short, hard-charging songs that feel like they were written in a garage and meant to be heard very, very loud.

Columbus, Ohio's Voidgazer formed in 2024, working in heavy metal and hard rock territory — a band grounded in traditional heavy metal songwriting rather than extreme subgenres, focused on building songs that carry actual weight without necessarily reaching for maximum brutality. Columbus has a long tradition of no-nonsense Midwestern rock and metal, and Voidgazer fit that lineage. A young band finding their footing in familiar but well-loved territory.

Cleveland's Vulgar Devils have been playing no-frills heavy metal since 2016, carrying the torch for the blue-collar hard rock grit that once defined the Ohio scene. Their sound is rooted in the classic tradition — riffs first, attitude always.
